Support Montevallo's Nondiscrimination Ordinance

Montevallo is an inclusive community where all residents should have the opportunity to thrive in a safe and accepting environment.

To fulfill this promise, residents are asking the city council to pass a nondiscrimination ordinance (NDO). In the absence of state or federal protections, this is particularly important to LGBTQ members of the community and would extend the same legal protections that already protect residents from discrimination based on race, color, religion, national origin, disability, or familial status.

Join Hometown Action and the Montevallo Acceptance Project in calling on the city council to pass a strong NDO that protects a safe and inclusive future for every resident of Montevallo.

If you do not live in Montevallo, please include a comment explaining your connection to the community (i.e. attend school, shop, or work in Montevallo)

Who's signing

I support a nondiscrimination ordinance in the city of Montevallo to fulfill the promise of our community as a welcoming place for everyone to live, work, attend school, and do business.

An NDO will protect the personal well-being and safety of all Montevallo residents, including members of the LGBTQ community, and reinforce a positive atmosphere for doing business in the community. An NDO further affirms our community's commitment to unity, diversity, and tolerance even when we may disagree on individual issues.

Please pass a strong NDO that protects all residents' ability to thrive in a safe and welcoming environment.
