Governor Ivey is trying to change Alabama Medicaid by adding work requirements that will hurt working families in small town and rural communities.
This change will affect 75,000 poor Alabama families who will lose healthcare coverage because they can't find work or will earn too much to qualify for Medicaid while still being unable to afford healthcare on their own. During the public comment period 90% of respondents opposed the change, yet Ivey is still moving forward.
We're partnering with Alabama Arise to host an information session to educate the public about these changes and talk about how we can help stop these unfair requirements that will hurt the poorest families in our community.
